A.C.E Academy’s Youth Entrepreneurs thrive despite Pandemic
The A.C.E. Academy Public Charter School continues to churn out a host of young innovative entrepreneurs. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the Charter School’s entrepreneurs are earning a real income and building their brand as business owners. Shawn P. Smalls, Co-Founder of the A.C.E. Academy Public Charter School and, S&L Consultants and Academic Achievers is proud of his school’s entrepreneur program and the many students that have chosen business ownership as a viable career option. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland talked with Shawn P. Smalls about his school’s programs and the students that have launched businesses.
The school started the program back in 2014. However, during this pandemic, nearly 20 students started building their own brands.
At A.C.E. Academy Charter School, students from kindergarten all the way up to 8th grade are learning entrepreneurship skills. “They’re basically learning how to create the business from scratch," Program Director Shawn Smalls said.
ACE Academy Public Charter School Enjoying Successful Growth
Entrepreneurialism and the steps to build a viable business is an essential part of the curriculum at ACE Academy Public Charter School. The traditional areas of education including, math, reading and writing is certainly a standard part of the classroom experience, but it’s matched with technology-based science, financial literacy and character building. Five years after its inception, ACE Academy Public Charter School is now 400 students strong. ‘COMMUNITY VOICES’ host, Ron Holland talked with Laila Minott, Executive Director of ACE Academy Public Charter School and the school’s Board Chair, Shawn Smalls about their extraordinary journey.
